This past weekend we went to En Prat to do a little hiking and just relaxing.
It was a beautiful hike with lots of fresh water pools from the springs.
En Prat might be the place where Jeremiah is told to go and bury his loin cloth. After a month he was to go dig it up and tell the people of Israel that that is what their hearts were like.
Often the English will translate that to the Euphrates, but that is a really long ways away and Euphrates in Hebrew is En Prat. Jeremiah was from Anatoth which is very close to En Prat and there are lots of caves and crags in the rocks where he could have buried it.
The view was quite spectacular from up top.
a couple hyraxes hanging out on the rocks
the fish would nibble at your toes, this was in a pool that had been mad at the top of the trail,
lots of pools to go swimming in! Most of them weren't that deep, but some of them were quite deep.
Israel's hiking trails often go up and down, it adds to the fun!
Complete with hand holds.
a goat hanging out on the side of the trail
a water fall, the next photo is looking down from the water fall
we swam up, and jumped off the cliff at a point where it got really deep.
none of us touched the bottom
the last part of the hike was dry.
but it looked like this area could flood once and a while
there was another pool at the end of the hike.
We studied Jeremiah and talked about the likely possibility of En Prat. Nice to see it in pictures, what a beautiful area
